He is probably buddies with Steele and may know Powell. Steele and Powell have both declared themselves to be Republicans.

The ones he denounces are intellectuals. Thinkers can't be worried about appeasing someone like Alford. Political types are more likely to be interested in forming alliances, especially with the head of a black business group.

Sowell has declared himself to be an independent. I haven't read much of Steele's background but I don't recall him declaring himself to be a Republican.

Clarence Thomas, as usual, is an outlier of just about any analysis when it comes to black Americans.Casey Lartiguehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02990638216179437178noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3823302.post-28086979045344185202008-03-16T23:31:00.000-04:002008-03-16T23:31:00.000-04:00Anybody who calls Thomas Sowell a "self-hating bla...Anybody who calls Thomas Sowell a "self-hating black" has clearly never read any of Sowells writings.HispanicPundithttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10220166238164432290noreply@blogger.com
