2015-01-27, speech, Helping Hands Korea, documentary 여기 저기

I'm director of International Relations at Freedom Factory, the Asia Outreach Fellow of the Atlas Network, and the International Adviser to both the Mulmangcho School (for adolescent North Korean refugees) and HOPE (Helping Others Prosper Through English).

As you may notice, none of those require me to be at the office--instead, I should be out meeting, greeting, "strategerizing" for freedom. Yesterday I didn't go to the office--and it is unlikely I will go today!

The main event was a speech I gave at one of the international schools in Seoul. The students were lively, had many questions. I invited them to interrupt me at any time during my speech with questions--and they did so, many times!

I also joined Rev. Tim Peters of Helping Hands Korea for his weekly meeting. His organization rescues North Korean refugees in China and also provides help for the children of North Korean refugees. He was delighted to meet my new assistant, Cherie Yang (who is quickly learning that sitting at her desk is not part of her job duties).

After having a meeting with Étienne Ravary  and  Laurent Dansereau to discuss their new documentary, they joined us for the meeting with Rev. Peters. If you would like to be considered for their documentary, friend them on Facebook and let them know who you are.

When I post these albums for Facebook, I'm asked for the location.  "Here and there" 여기 저기 is not an option...

Chosun Monthly magazine [Korean language]

Chosun Monthly Magazine has made an announcement (in Korean) about the Seoul Honorary Citizenship award that I received on December 9, 2022.  Our Korean staffers say that the magazine is a big deal in South Korea. Here's the overall roundup of media about the award. In the next two months, I have extended interviews coming up in two different magazines, one in the USA and one in South Korea. Both articles will be in respected publications so they should raise awareness of FSI's work that your support makes possible. * * * Support FSI via Stripe or PayPal . https://donate.stripe.com/3cs28F5IAcc85IAaEF or PayPal .

It will be a bit of a homecoming reunion, I was one of the speakers at the first HGSE AOCC in 2003.  Stay tuned, this will be preparation for a larger event later this year.
