2018-05-25 Samantha and Jasmin visit TNKR

TNKR Members Jasmin Fosse and Samantha Cianfrone Livson visited the TNKR office twice last week! They were visiting from Finland.

They had an energetic trip, visiting many sites in Seoul, and making the trip to the DMZ.

They stopped at the TNKR office twice, staying for extended periods. Jasmin has been volunteering with TNKR for more than a year, our first teenager to become a Representative. She shares our many messages on Facebook, has raised money for TNKR, and even gave part of her graduation gift to TNKR!

She brought her delightful friend Samantha, who surprised us with a fantastic gift. We had some delightful discussions about North Korean refugees, TNKR, life. She left us a poignant note expressing how impressed she is with TNKR.

Two TNKR students joined us over a three-hour lunch the final day.

Casey Lartigue awarded "Social Contribution" Award (Hansarang)

On April 20, 2017, I was awarded the "Social Contribution" award by the Hansarang Foundation.  When I was first nominated, my response was: "Hahahaha! I won't win, but it is a great honor to be nominated."  It was until I was a finalist that I took it seriously. Then instead of saying "I am honored to be nominated," I wanted to WIN ! Which I did! I was awarded a plaque, 10 million won (about $9,000), and many congratulations from many people (including other awardees that night).

Chosun Monthly magazine [Korean language]

Chosun Monthly Magazine has made an announcement (in Korean) about the Seoul Honorary Citizenship award that I received on December 9, 2022.  Our Korean staffers say that the magazine is a big deal in South Korea. Here's the overall roundup of media about the award. In the next two months, I have extended interviews coming up in two different magazines, one in the USA and one in South Korea. Both articles will be in respected publications so they should raise awareness of FSI's work that your support makes possible. * * * Support FSI via Stripe or PayPal . https://donate.stripe.com/3cs28F5IAcc85IAaEF or PayPal .
