A wonderful thing about having our own office is that we have a place to host visitors! Some of them are fans, potential volunteers, donors, researchers or even journalists.
It is amazing knowing that people want to visit us, in some cases they ask to take photos with them.
We had two Koreans now doing work with refugees visit us. They are also struggling to become a financially viable organization. They were amazed that we can attract so many volunteers to our activities and that we have so many volunteers who have tried to do fundraising for us. It was like two homeless people coming together to talk about how the other one is doing.
We also have visitors from around the world coming to see us. Some include us on their itinerary. Of course, no one top the TNKR messaging bot @Eben Appleton, who came to visit TNKR, which happens to be located in Korea.

We aren’t that open with our exact address, we have had a few crazies show up, unannounced. One young man who insisted he could raise a lot of money for us and introduce us to influential politicians, K-pop stars didn’t want to give his name and as a potential volunteer he didn’t want to go though the application process or give a copy of his idea. I finally had to tell him to stop coming to our office.
Also, we would have people showing up at orientation and Matching sessions without going through the application process—with some not understanding why we wouldn’t just let them collect some refugees to tutor.
