Last night I was a guest speaker along with Shin Hyeyoung at the Graduate School of TESOL at the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.

I’m co-founder of Teach North Korean Refugees, so most invitations are for me to introduce refugee speakers. But last night, they wanted to hear about TNKR and our education approach. That meant that I had 30 minutes. One TNKR regular who has heard me speak many times (but apparently doesn’t read my columns and blog posts) was amazed at my deep insights about TNKR.

Is the SOTU over?

Some people asked me if I watched President Biden’s State of the Union. Haha! I have seen enough of them. Not just Biden’s SOTU, but SOTUs by US presidents! Back in 1999, I not only watched President Clinton’s SOTU, but the Cato Institute gave me the task of keeping track of all of President Clinton’s proposals and promises.
