2019-11-29 YouTuber Tango visits TNKR

A popular North Korean refugee YouTuber known as "Tango" visited the TNKR office a few days ago. He has so many followers that he may qualify to be called an "Influencer." He doesn't need us, but he may be joining TNKR's YouTuber project.

Our hope is that the TNKR YouTuber project will die quickly because the refugees will get recruited by larger YouTube channels or organizations, or get so big (like Tango) that they don't really need us but want to be associated with us.

Casey Lartigue awarded "Social Contribution" Award (Hansarang)

On April 20, 2017, I was awarded the "Social Contribution" award by the Hansarang Foundation.  When I was first nominated, my response was: "Hahahaha! I won't win, but it is a great honor to be nominated."  It was until I was a finalist that I took it seriously. Then instead of saying "I am honored to be nominated," I wanted to WIN ! Which I did! I was awarded a plaque, 10 million won (about $9,000), and many congratulations from many people (including other awardees that night).

  Chosun Monthly Magazine has made an announcement (in Korean) about the Seoul Honorary Citizenship award that I received on December 9, 2022.  Our Korean staffers say that the magazine is a big deal in South Korea.
