2014-03-02 documentary recording by Hong Kong TV station

On Sunday I spent almost the entire day at a recording for a documentary. I had a great time, meeting current friends as well as making some new ones.

Each interviewee had a different incredible story. So many people (especially reporters) talk about the "refugee narrative," as they see the surface of each story (as reporters often do), but fail to understand the deeper differences.

They also interviewed one male refugee with an incredible story, but at that time he wasn't ready to show his face and still hasn't done so. Several years ago he gave a speech at an event we organized that shocked many of the attendees, but he has his reasons for not being public.

She is another special refugee I met on March 1, 2012. She later joined TNKR (now FSI) once or twice as a student. I haven't seen her recently, however.

And of course, Yeonmi Park! This is before she became international.

She has been active on various TV shows, and also studied in TNKR (now FSI) during 2015.

With Yeonmi Park and the production team from Hong Kong. They contacted me asking if I could connect them with refugees, and they were amazed that we found four on short notice.

Chosun Monthly magazine [Korean language]

Chosun Monthly Magazine has made an announcement (in Korean) about the Seoul Honorary Citizenship award that I received on December 9, 2022.  Our Korean staffers say that the magazine is a big deal in South Korea. Here's the overall roundup of media about the award. In the next two months, I have extended interviews coming up in two different magazines, one in the USA and one in South Korea. Both articles will be in respected publications so they should raise awareness of FSI's work that your support makes possible. * * * Support FSI via Stripe or PayPal . https://donate.stripe.com/3cs28F5IAcc85IAaEF or PayPal .
