I found out yesterday that I have a great chance to win an award given by a South Korean foundation. There are only two candidates left in the competition--I'm one of them. It would not be the first time I would have won an award. It would be special because this organization has nothing to do with North Korean refugee issues, but they think what I am doing is outstanding.
They are telling the two final nominees that no matter who wins, this will be the start of a relationship, that they hope to provide some financial support for our efforts and that they will try to highlight us.
It is an honor, but I'd prefer to win. If I win, I will do a touchdown dance in the other guy's face. I will have a box of Kleenex ready for him. Then encourage him to get ready to try again next year. Clearly, I won't be a graceful winner, but if I lose, yes, I will say that it was an honor to be nominated.
I will try not to tackle the other guy if he does a touchdown dance in my face.

UPDATE: I did win the award: https://caseylartigue.blogspot.com/2017/04/20-casey-lartigue-social-contribution.html
I was interviewed by an executive from the foundation giving out the award. It was fantastic! I can talk about TNKR all day long, so the 90 minute interview was a few pieces of my favorite cake.
Years ago, I was part of an award-winning radio talk show. Well, I never saw the award, but the host of the show would announce on the show that it was an award-winning show. I was a regular guest and guest host on his show until I got my own show. I began calling myself "an award-winning guest host." When the regular host found out, he laughed. He said he would continue letting me guest host his show anyway.
I thought about that because the Korean organization that is considering me for an award will only announce the winner. I would be perfectly fine with them announcing that I came in second place, there is no shame in coming in second place in a country with a population of more than 50 million people.
