Another tour group visiting South Korea stopped by the TNKR office to hear speeches from students in our program.
I love these opportunities for TNKR students:
* It gives students in TNKR opportunities to give speeches before live audiences.
* After a while, they start to hear the same questions, and start to develop deeper answers.
* It gets them prepared for larger opportunities in the future.
I often have people asking/pleading/demanding that I put these events online, but I try to keep the focus on the future, allowing the refugees to develop public speaking skills out of the glare of Facebook live. At some point, opportunities will come, and they will be prepared after having many opportunities to speak. We know those other organizations inviting them won't thank us, but we know we are doing things the right way.
He is one of my all-time favorite attendees. His question during Q&A was to point out that we have a donation bucket. He encouraged other members of the tour group to also donate to TNKR.

The tour group arrived about 30 minutes early, so I started my warm-up act a bit earlier. It meant they then had 2 full hours with the speakers. They had many questions, and also wanted to know how I got involved in all of this.
